Holiday…!!!
Posted in Uncategorized on June 30, 2008 by Soo ChingExam + Home + Birthday
Posted in life in russia with tags exam, holiday, home on June 24, 2008 by Soo ChingAnother 6 days and I’ll be home…. Another 6 days and I’ll be facing my pathology physiology exam…. Another 6 days and I’ll be 21 years old…. Another 6 days, it will be my most memorable 3 in 1 day…
At 1st I thought of doing my path phys this Friday, but I guess its impossible… well… it is possible, but whenever I rush my study, I tend to forget everything… I guess I shouldn’t rush it… 6 days to study path phys is just perfect and I will have time to repeat a few times too. But after that I’ll need to rush to pack up my stuff and clean my room. Lucky for me, Yuri, the vice dean sign the visa paper for me without much Q. And the others stuff such as the library stamp and visa my friends will settle it for me since they are free and “examless”.
Yesterday I bought some souvenir home. It’s for my little new born cousin, my soon to be born niece, and the small girl under my mum care.
I can’t wait to finish up my exam and go home.. aren’t they cute… I wanted to go to Hanoi to visit my cousin this summer, but i dunno whether my dad will allow me to go or not since I’m might be going alone since no one in the house are as free as me. Anybody wanna visit Hanoi with me?? Hmmm??? Anybody??? My cousin who is going to deliver my soon to be born niece lives in Hanoi. So I’ll be staying at her place…. “if I’m allowed to go”.
Well, now is the time to think bout my path phys 1st… I am gonna pass my path phys and go home and celebrate my Bday with my family…
So, for now, I wish the 6th years student will keep it down and give us a peaceful condition to study… no offence seniors…
Path Anat..

Posted in Uncategorized on June 15, 2008 by Soo ChingNothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to help you through your days, to teach you a lesson, to help you figure out whom you are or who you want to become. If someone hurts you, betrays you, breaks your heart… forgive them and thank them and love them for they have teach you about trust, faith and value of being cautious. If someone love you, love them back unconditionally, not because they love you but that’s the way it is. They teach you how to love and how to open your heart to things. The people you meet who impinge on your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become.
Sometimes things happen to you may seem horrible, painful, and unfair but without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your prospective, potential, strength, resolution, or spirit. You can live your life anything you wish. Create your own destiny and then go out and enjoy it with absolutely no worries. Illness, injury, hate, lost, and awkwardness all occur to test the limits of your psyche. Without these challenges, whatever they may be, life would be like an effortlessly tiled, straight, flat boring road to nowhere. It would be secure, harmless and calm, but unexciting, dull and completely meaningless.
Make every day happening. Appreciate every second in your life for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before. Let yourself tumble in passion, break free, and enjoy. Trust in yourself, have faith in yourself, for if you don’t, it will be hard for others to believe in you.
You’ll never know who these people may be, but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way. It’s either in a bad way or a good way.
It requires less character to discover the faults of others than is does to tolerate them.
Everything happens for a reason.Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.
I think I really need a break..
Posted in Uncategorized on June 14, 2008 by Soo ChingFrankly saying…. This semester is really tiring… exams goes on and on… don’t even have time to take a break… My next paper will be on 18th, after that is path anat on 22nd and on the 30th will be path phys. And after that – HOME SWEET HOME. Me is going home after my path phys exam. I’m going home that night itself. The problem now is that dunno whether the dean will let me take the visa earlier o not. I heard there’s a new rule to get the visa. Well, should I postpone my path phys? Or should I just do it on the 30th and rush to the airport after that? Actually it’ll be just nice if I can do the exam in the morning, but since that’s not my exam date, I can only do it after 11am. This is troublesome man. Who else to be blame??? Well, I guess everyone know who should be blame…..or not? I just make up my mind… I’m skipping my surgery and do my path anat 1st… after that ny I’ll think bout surgery… although we’re free from slides and MCQ, still, the theory, gross and clinical case are damn a lot man… I thought of doing my surgery on the 16th, but it seems like that day already “full”. Only 10 “registered” people get to do their exam on that day. Only 3 more left… and home, here I come… But now, Path Anat here I come…
One down, Four more to go…
Posted in life in russia with tags exams, noises on June 5, 2008 by Soo ChingFinally, my pharmacology paper finished dy… one down, four more to go. My next paper will be internal medicine. I guess this whole month will be my sleepless month. The pre-pharmacology preparations are challenging. The noises are agonizing. People staying the room above mine were celebrating birthday. The juniors staying below my room were singing, playing “pisang goreng”. Even noises from people who are playing games 2 blocks away can be heard clearly in my room until I have to go up to them and ask them to lower down their voice. The worst noise ever is the car alarm that keeps going on from 11.30pm till 10.00am in the morning. I and my block mates stick a paper on the block door that says: “No Entry“.
And few days before my pharmacology exams, something just came suddenly into my ears and head. Something that I thought I can accept but when I thought bout it deeply, I am actually running away from the reality, pretending nothing happen. It does bother me even now. But I hope I didn’t make the wrong decision. Luckily, both of my block mates are there to cheer me up and Hui Ting there to open up my mind. Thank you very much girls.
At the same time, my pre-exams sickness came to visit me. Fever, flu, and cough – my frequent visitors. I think it’s the 3rd time this year they came to visit me. But this time they bring their friend along with them – the ulcers. Anyway, fever left dy. Thanks to Paracetamol. And now, I just need to get rid of the flu, cough and ulcers which are situated in my throat. Can’t really eat much due to the ulcers. And guess what??? I lost 2 kg… hehe…
Well, I guess I won’t be touching my laptop again until after my internal medicine paper which will be next Wednesday. Paka moi druziami..!!! do sleduyushi sreda.
My ways to be HAPPY..
Posted in Uncategorized with tags happinest, life on June 4, 2008 by Soo Ching- Change your thinking : Live everyday as if it is your last.
- Keep a journal : Write an ongoing list of good things that happen to you everyday. You can blog too.
- Get some perspective on things : Think bout how you would like to be remember and what you might tell your grandchildren bout your life. Let it be an inspiration…!!
- Don’t let the small stuff bug you : Wasting your energy by getting upset bout many minor irritations is not worth it. enjpy your life to the fullest.
- Do any unpleasant or difficult chores that need doing : Well, if you’re worrying bout the things that need to be done, you might as well be doing it now.
- Change your routine : Create more interest in your life. If you normally turn on the light in the bath room 1st before you take a shower, why don’t you try to take a shower 1st and then only turn on the light? it’ll be interesting..
- Don’t try to keep up with others : X have all 5 in all his exams. But who cares? look again. X work his ass off every day and night, and never seems to enjoy his life with friends. Who’s better off?
- Have a big clean out and divest yourself of useless stuff : Don’t keep all the “sampah” that you’ve been keeping for years in those boxes. Your vision is clearer and the feng shui of your room is improved.
- Learn to say no : Your live is too busy and you’re running from one thing to another. Give yourself a space to think and do something for yourself.
- Remember to love your friends : Relationship might need some work-everything needs some repair or maintenance after years of knowing each others.
- Don’t let familiarity breed contempt : Your family deserve at least the same consideration you give your friends.
- Tell your family and friends that you love them : Tell them what you love bout them. A little praise never hurts and before you know it you might be told that you’ve done things well too.
- Are you a shoulder to lean on or for troubled friends? : It maybe hard, but if their problems are beginning to affect you, then you need to try not to be quite so available all the time.
- Phone, e-mail, evan write to some old friends : You’ve lost touch, but it needn’t be for ever. Start calling them now.
- Ehance your mood with greenery : Cut some fresh flowers from the garden or head to the markets and fill your home with loads of flowers, fruits and vegetables. Fill the room with life and vitality.
- Go to the beach : The long views, the wind, the waves, bare feet in the sand, sun on the back - there is nothing this good for the soul. Althought, there is no beach here, but i think zoopark is not bad too.
- Create something : Create paint, sculpt, sew, bake, garden - anything!
- Breath fresh air : Go outside or open the windows (i wouldn’t recommend this during winter). Breath deeply to the bottom of your lungs.
- Go for a walk : This gentle exercise will renew and invigorate you mentally and physically. Guarantee will work. I tried this before.
- Watch a funny video and have a good laugh : Shin-chan and others anime always do it for me.
- Move your furniture and ornaments around : It’s true, a change is as good as a holiday. (warning!! don’t do this alone, you might hurt yourself if you do it alone and it’ll be easier to get things done with more people)
- Give yourself something to look forward to : A day out or a message will do. You can count in exams too.
- Invite friends for a tea : Tidy up the room, some tea, some biscuits, and some music playing will be great. Spend some time chit chatting with each others. this can ‘merapatkan hubungan silahturahim’.
- Smile : Smiling is contagious - try it to believe it.
- Make someone else’s day happier : It may sound abit corny, but why not? Start by stop gossiping around.

A pharmacological prank
Posted in life in russia with tags class, pharmacology, pranks on May 23, 2008 by Soo ChingAt 8.45am - where most of the group G and K students were sleeping and wasting time in the internet, our pharmacology teacher called:
Teacher: I’ll be in the pediatric hospital in 30 minutes, see you later.
Me: We have class now? But I thought our class is on Saturday?
Teacher: We’ll discuss bout it later.
After she hangs up the phone, I called my groupmates one by one while preparing myself. And these are their response:
-Shikin (hastening): Cikgu call ker? Class pukul berapa? Kenapa tiba tiba ada class? I thought class on Saturday?
-Hui Ting (shock): Teacher call? Why suddenly got class? You’re going out now? Call me when you’re downstairs k?
-Ivon (just woke up): helllllllo? Ha? Oooo… ok…
Me: Call Shou Xun and tell him bout this too k?
Ivon: Ooo…
-Hafeez (didn’t sleep the whole night): Eh? Kenapa tiba tiba pulak? I mana sempat nak prepare? You tahu kan I nak 30 minutes to prepare… I tak gi lah…
I went to Ian’s room to wake him up: hoicjooooooo….. Why suddenly got class? She called you? Haizz…
Cia Wei’s room: Seriously? Are you sure? Ok ok….
In 30 minutes’ means 9.15am, by the time I call them it’s already 8.55am. So I messaged teacher that we’ll start our class at 9.30am. Then teacher called back:
Teacher: My dear friend, where are you now?
Me: I’m in the hostel.
Teacher: Ok. I read your message and I agree with you. You can start your class at 9.30am. I’ll be waiting for you in the hall.
Me: Ok. Thanks teacher. See you later.
At the pediatric hospital at 9.47am- while we were looking for the “hall”, teacher appear with a group of 5th year students from group A. They are having clinical pharmacology cycle. The teacher looks very surprise to see us there. So she asks:
Teacher: What are you doing here? Are you having class in pediatric hospital?
Me: Yap, you called me just now.
Group G and K (most of them were pointing their finger towards me): Soo Ching told us that we have class now…
Me: …….
Teacher (grinning): Ok you come follow us.
And so we follow her until the part where the other guy teacher stop and shows us the bird on the tree.
Cia Wei: Teacher, do we have class today?
Teacher (laughing non stop): Sorry students, my mistake, you don’t have class today. Sorry.. you go home prepare for tomorrow’s class.
All of us: (“-.-)
They told me, next time if teacher call, don’t answer her call… coz it might be a prank call..
I guess she got confused between the senior’s and our class…
And that’s how we spend our Friday rainy morning in “pharmaco prank” class…
*Conclusion: When ever your teacher call, tell her which year and group you’re from before starting the conversation.
New Camera in town
Posted in Uncategorized with tags camera on May 21, 2008 by Soo ChingHave you ever thought of getting a new camera? Well, try Sony’s latest invention – Sony Cybershot DSC-T2 touch screen 8MP digital camera with smile detection. I’m not promoting this camera, but this camera is too cute to oppose. My senior owned this camera. Last Sunday during the Nizhny games before the closing ceremony, my seniors and few of my friends along with some juniors was experimenting this unbelievable camera. This camera lock on to the target’s face and automatically triggers image capture when a smile is detected. It has 4 Gb of internal memory and highest resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels.
I wonder if they have any camera that detects cute guys. Whenever you’re in the crowd, you just need to take out your camera and start scanning, when the camera flashed, you’re in luck. But the possibility of the camera flashing here in Nizhny Novgorod seems to be less than 0.05%.
